Empowering Education for Every Student
Hello, my name is Tye Sawyer. I would like to be your Rocky View Schools Trustee for Ward 3. I’m passionate about having a strong, well supported public school system that can help create a prosperous and just future.
Campaign Priorities
Increased School Capacity
The population served by Rocky View Schools is growing rapidly and many schools are over capacity. As Trustee I would:
Advocate for faster approval and funding for more schools and expansions to meet the needs of students;
Collaborate with the municipalities of Rocky View and the province to streamline development and construction of new schools.
Increased Funding for Students
I believe that each student has the right to the tools and supports they need to thrive. As Trustee I would:
Push for a revised provincial funding formula to better support the growing division;
Call for higher per-student funding, aligned with national levels;
Advocate for improvements to programs like Program Unit Funding (PUF) to ensure that students’ diverse learning needs are being met.
Defending Public Education
I am a strong supporter of public funding being for public education. As trustee I would:
Oppose the privatization of education.
Advocate for public funding to go to public schools, not diverted to independent or private schools.
Celebrate Our Diversity
Diversity is one of our greatest strengths. As Trustee I would:
Work to ensure that every student, regardless of faith, culture, income, race or sexual identity will feel welcome, respected, included and valued in our schools.
In Summary
I believe in a strong, well funded, inclusive school system that will ensure our students can succeed and thrive. As Trustee I will work to build a stronger school system not just for Ward 3, but for all of Rocky View Schools.

About Me
Hello, my name is Tye Sawyer. I would like to be your Rocky View Schools Trustee for Ward 3.
I have lived in Airdrie since 2012 and have watched this city and the region around it grow at a rapid pace. I’ve seen firsthand the problems our school division is having managing this growth with inadequate funding.
I have a background in customer service, but I choose to leave the workforce several years ago to support my neurodivergent daughter as she began her journey through the public school system. As she has gained the skills and ability to thrive, I would like to give back and support Rocky View Schools in helping her and every student to continue to thrive.
Like all parents, I have a vested interest in ensuring our schools are well supported. Today’s youth will shape the future and setting them up for success will help ensure a better future for us all. I am passionate about having a strong, well supported system that can help create that success.
